THIS SECTION IS DEVOTED TO HELPING YOU TO ACHEIVE THE LOOK YOU WANT AND DESERVE

I HAVE FOUND ALOT OF FOLKS THAT SELL STENCILS EITHER WONT TELL YOU THE SECRETS TO SUCCESSFULL STENCILING OR SIMPLY DON'T KNOW. SO I WILL DO MY BEST TO HELP YOU.

The Supplies I use and how I keep my paint from bleeding underneath my stencil...

I USE SMALL LITTLE WEDGES MADE OF FOAM... I PURCHASE THEM IN THE COSMEDIC SECTION OF THE STORE ( I AM PARTIAL TO WALMART ONES THEY COST $1.79 AND YA GET 32 OF EM IN THE PACK) I HAVE TRIED ALOT OF OTHERS, BUT THESE JUST DON'T ABSORB THE PAINT LIKE OTHERS AND THAT IS THE KEY TO GOOD STENCILING. NOT TOO MUCH PAINT.

YOU WANT TO GET IT SO IT IS LIKE A "DRY BRUSH EFFECT". PLACE A QTR SIZE OF YOU FAVORITE ACYLIC PAINT ON A STYROFOAM PLATE ...AFTER DIPPING THE SPONGE (FAT SIDE IN PAINT)YOU WILL WANT TO WIPE THE EXCESS PAINT OFF.. I WEAR AN OLD COTTON T~SHIRT AND DAB IT UNTIL IT LOOKS DRY... IT WON'T BE DRY, IT WILL STILL HAVE PLENTY OF PAINT TO STENCIL WITH. YOU THEN MAKE SPONCING MOTIONS ON YOUR STENCIL/ PRODUCT YOU WISH TO STENCIL. IF IT DOESNT SEEM TO BE DARK ENOUGH... JUST REPEAT THIS UNTILL IT IS AS DARK AS YOU WOULD LIKE.

TO HOLD YOUR STENCIL IN PLACE USE A SMALL PIECE OF MASKING TAPE ON EACH END TO TAPE IT DOWN SO IT WILL NOT SLIDE AROUND... MAKE SURE IT IS TIGHT ... AND YOU CAN ALSO APPLY A LIL PRESSURE WITH THE HAND YOU ARE NOT PAINTING WITH.

Now To give it the finished look... take a liner brush and connect the lettering in the places where the bridges were.This Is the Professional way to complete the stenciling,and looks so much better.

Just a little secret of mine... If by chance you have a tiny bit of bleed under the stencil. I "SPECKLE" my signs. ( I have 19 yrs in this so IT WORKS) I take an old tooth brush preferably a FIRM one, and dip the tip of the bristles in the paint you did the lettering with and with your thumb or little tiny dowel rob hold the brush about 3 to 4 inches over the sign and dragging across the bristles making little tiny specks on the item... this makes it prim. MAKE SURE NOT TO HAVE TOO MUCH PAINT .. OR IT WILL LOOK LIKE A BIRD LEFT YOU A GIFT.

I then clear seal the item... I use a clear seal from Walmart... I find it doesn't turn yellow...

I use metal hangers on the back which can be purchase at woodworks (www.woodwrks.com)
